YOUR CONTENT. YOUR CONTROL.

Privacy, kept simple.

Clipboard history can be personal. Here's how Jot! Clipboard handles your information, in plain language.

1. Overview

Jot! Clipboard is developed and published by ClingNote. Jot! Clipboard is designed to provide clipboard history, MultiCopy collections, and a floating Jot notepad while keeping that content on your Windows computer. Core features do not require an account.

2. Information the app accesses and stores

When clipboard monitoring is enabled, Jot! Clipboard can access and store copied text, links, code, images, file references, supported rich-text formats, application or window source context, and timestamps. The app may also store user-added labels and annotations, recognized image text, MultiCopy sets and rows, and Jot notes and note history. Because users control what they copy, this information may include personal or sensitive data.

3. Local storage

Ordinary clipboard history is stored in a local SQLite database and associated image files in the current Windows user's local application-data area. An unpackaged installation normally uses the folder %LocalAppData%\PasteAgain. Windows may redirect MSIX application storage to a package-specific data area. Use Settings → Open data folder in the app to find the actual location on your computer. Settings and local diagnostics may also be stored there.

4. Data transmission and analytics

Jot! Clipboard does not require cloud synchronization and does not automatically transmit clipboard contents, notes, OCR output, or usage analytics to ClingNote-operated servers. Version 1.0 does not include advertising trackers or cloud clipboard sync. Jot! Clipboard does not sell clipboard content or notes to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Images and OCR

The app can recognize text within copied images using local Windows capabilities. It does not send those screenshots or OCR text to an external generative AI service to perform recognition.

6. Sensitive information and optional lock

Jot! Clipboard includes local detection and protection for certain sensitive patterns, such as access tokens, password-like data, private keys, connection strings, and payment card numbers. Supported sensitive content is protected at rest using Windows user-scoped data protection. No automated detection can reliably identify every sensitive item, so users should remain cautious about copying confidential information.

The optional app lock uses Windows verification (including Windows Hello where supported). The Windows operating system handles sign-in and biometric verification; Jot! Clipboard does not receive or store the user's Windows PIN, password, fingerprint, or face data.

7. Exclusions and user controls

Users can configure exclusions for selected applications and sensitive windows, control retention periods, delete individual clips, and clear clipboard history. Deleting clipboard history also removes associated image files where applicable. Separately saved MultiCopy sets and Jot notes may be managed independently. Exclusion features and automatic sensitive-content detection have limitations; consult the application settings for available controls.

8. Backup and restore

Jot! Clipboard allows users to manually create encrypted backups protected by a password they choose. A backup is generated only when the user requests an export. The user decides where to save or transfer that file. No backups are automatically uploaded to Jot! Clipboard servers. Keeping a secure copy of the backup password and file is the user's responsibility.

9. Diagnostics

Jot! Clipboard may keep local diagnostic logs containing app and operating system details and operational errors. Diagnostics are not intended to include clipboard history or personal note contents, and are not automatically transmitted to the developer. The Copy diagnostics feature is designed to exclude clipboard values.

10. Uninstalling and deleting stored data

Data retention after an app uninstall depends on Windows installation and package behavior. Users can delete saved history from within Jot! Clipboard. After closing the app, they may also remove any remaining local application data from the data folder identified in Settings, if they want to delete retained files.

11. Children's privacy

Jot! Clipboard is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not designed specifically for children. It does not knowingly collect children's personal data through a developer-operated online service.

12. Policy changes

This policy may be revised when the app or applicable requirements change. The current version will be published at this webpage with its effective date.
